Mechanical ventilation

Previously we talked about natural ventilation. Today we’re here to tell you about its number one rival: mechanical ventilation.

In mechanical ventilation, the air exchange is achieved by the effect of specially prepared fans and adequate air inlets, all positioned in the most appropriate places of your farm. The advantage of the latter consists in the possibility of adjusting the air exchange rates precisely and automatically regardless of the external climatic conditions.

It is therefore possible to implement ventilation in relation to the specific needs of the animals housed in the various departments, increasing their productivity in relation to the best environmental conditions obtainable in the house.

The correct distribution in the room depends on the arrangement of the air inlets and the speed of the air inlet; for this it is necessary that these openings are adjustable, to adapt them to the necessary flow rate variations in the room.
This is normally entrusted to the management of a control unit equipped with a temperature sensor, which increases and decreases the speed of the fan according to the desired room temperature and the weight of the animals present.

In the control unit it is also possible to set the minimum speed of the fan in order to ensure the minimum ventilation.
