The long experience of EVOTECK has clearly shown that the natural ventilation, well-designed and properly managed, is able to ensure the maintenance of good environmental conditions inside the pig house.
The natural ventilation is obtained with a natural air circulation that enters from the side air inlets (louvers or vasistas windows) and exits from the high opening in the ridge.
Such ventilation is more efficient with the biggest temperature difference between indoor and outdoor and the biggest difference in altitude between the air inlet and outlet openings, given by the roof slope.
It is clear that it will be relatively easier to get good ventilation in winter than in summer.

The design of pig houses with natural ventilation has a number of aspects to consider:
– the creation of closing systems for air inlets and roof ridge, easily controlled with mechanized opening system and managed by an automatic control unit, which can also manage the influence of speed and wind direction;
– the construction of the roof with the correct slope.
