Dry Feeding System

Published On: 16/03/2023Categories: Livestock, News

The dry feeding system is mainly adopted as it is easier to manage and cheaper.
The transport of the feeding takes place using galvanized or stainless-steel pipes.
Depending on the lengths and typology, in these pipes, a spiral auger or a chain is used with disks in plastic material which allow a greater flow rate and longer circuit lengths.
The feeding systems used for sows require the use of individual dispensers with manual or automatic adjustment. In fact, the use of these systems in pig growing or fattening sectors allows the feed to be transported from the storage silos directly into the various types of feeders.
Regardless of the length and complexity of the system, we always recommend a few simple suggestions to our customers:
1. The loading hopper has the possibility of regulating the flow rate of the system; therefore, it is advisable not to fill the pipes to the maximum capacity. This will significantly extend the life of the wearable components.
2. Where possible arrange for a final drop of the return circuit into the hopper or silos. At first, this will prevent even small quantities of feed from entering the driving unit and will also give the possibility of multiple programming of the system.
Evoteck will size, supply and install dry feeding systems of different types.
